(Ministry of Interior): Return to applying the legal deadlines for entry stamps and leave permits in early September

Kuwait City, August 20 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday the termination of exceptional measures and the resumption of applying legal time limits for entry permits and leave permits, effective September 1 of next year.
In a press statement, the ministry said that starting September 1, 2026, the automatic extension of all types of entry permits (visas) for individuals present in the country will be discontinued, and the legal time limits and the procedures and controls governing entry permits will be reinstated.
It added that the legal time limits for leave permits for residents outside the country will also be reinstated, while the additional exceptional period will continue to apply to residents who left the country on August 31, 2026, or earlier, in accordance with the governing controls.
The ministry clarified that the residence license confirmation certificate issued through the unified government electronic services application (Sahel) serves as the official and authoritative reference for determining the expiration date of the leave permit, urging residents to adhere to the specified duration upon their return to the country.
The Ministry of Interior also called on everyone to comply with the provisions of the law and the regulations governing these matters. (End) A.J.R. / A.M.H.
