Pakistan and Syria discuss recent developments in regional affairs

Islamabad, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaybani held talks today, Thursday, to discuss the latest developments in the region. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry described the closed-door meeting in Islamabad as “deep and friendly,” noting that the discussions centered on reaffirming the deep-rooted and fraternal ties between the two countries. It said the talks focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as on recent regional developments. The ministry added that the meeting would be followed by delegation-level talks to examine all aspects of Pakistan-Syria bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation. (End) S.B.K / F.S.
