Egypt and Qatar Prime Ministers Discuss Enhancing Joint Cooperation in Various Fields

Cairo, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli and his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks on Thursday to explore ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields and to discuss developments in a number of issues and topics of mutual interest between the two countries.
The Egyptian Cabinet stated in a press release that the meeting took place during the seventh session of the Egyptian-Qatari Supreme Joint Committee, held in the new city of Alamein, attended by a number of ministers and officials from both the Egyptian and Qatari sides.
Madbouli emphasized during the meeting the depth and strength of the bilateral relations between Cairo and Doha, which continue to evolve with the support and attention of the political leadership in both countries. He highlighted the importance of close and continuous coordination between the Egyptian and Qatari sides on various regional issues and files, contributing to efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
He also praised the notable progress witnessed by Egyptian-Qatari relations recently, particularly in the fields of economic and investment cooperation, which has been crowned by the signing of several major deals and projects, foremost among them the partnership project for the development and expansion of the "Al Rum" area, as part of state efforts to develop and expand the North Coast region.
Madbouli clarified that the government is moving forward with its plans to develop and expand the North Coast region, maximizing the benefits of its assets and tourism and investment potential. He affirmed that the area possesses promising foundations that qualify it to become one of the prominent global tourist destinations and to attract a significant portion of global tourism in the coming years.
He expressed his aspiration to continue advancing the frameworks of joint cooperation between Egypt and Qatar in various fields and sectors, noting the importance of the seventh session of the Egyptian-Qatari Supreme Joint Committee and the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding that will support and strengthen bilateral relations and open new horizons for cooperation between the two countries.
He added that Egypt looks forward to enhancing cooperation with sisterly Qatar in the energy sector and leveraging available opportunities and capacities to serve the common interests of both countries.
For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman affirmed the depth and strength of the relations between Egypt and Qatar, characterized by close partnership and coordination on many files and issues of mutual interest, particularly at the regional level, especially regarding the Palestinian issue.
He also confirmed that Egyptian-Qatari relations are witnessing rapid development across various fields, given the attention and mutual commitment of the leaderships of both countries to continue supporting joint cooperation frameworks and elevating the level of partnership between Cairo and Doha.
He expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Qatar in several priority economic fields, foremost among them increasing the volume of trade, energy, and industry, contributing to deepening economic partnership between the two countries and opening new horizons for joint cooperation.
