(Yemeni Presidential) Missile: Houthi militia targeted the western coast recently with 56 ballistic missiles and 44 drones
Aden, August 19 (KUNA) -- A member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Tariq Saleh, said on Wednesday that the Houthi militia had targeted areas on Yemen’s Red Sea coast, which are under the control of the legitimate government, with 56 ballistic missiles and 44 suicide drones in recent days.
Saleh added during his meeting with local authority leaders in the coastal districts of Al-Mukha and Mawza’ in Taiz Governorate that the Houthi militia had achieved none of its objectives, except for destroying civilian infrastructure and damaging Al-Mukha port and other civilian facilities.
He pointed out that the recent escalation by the Houthi militia was directed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and began with targeting civilian ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, including an Indian vessel, with the aim of doubling the siege on the Yemeni people and closing Al-Mukha port, which serves as a key maritime gateway for residents of the liberated governorates, particularly Taiz and Al-Hudaydah.
He considered the repeated attacks using large numbers of ballistic missiles and drones launched daily by the Houthi militia as evidence of their inability and incapacity to confront, describing them as “retaliatory attacks after the failure of Iran and its militias’ plans to reach Bab al-Mandab.”
He affirmed that “the equation has changed, and government forces are inflicting heavy casualties on the Houthi militia, which is affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, across various fronts,” noting that “the introduction of new weapons, especially drones, has disrupted the IRGC-affiliated militia and confused Iran’s calculations.” (End) S.N.S
