French envoy to Libya meets with UN Special Representative to discuss developments and initiatives supporting the political process
Tunis, Aug 19 (KUNA) -- Paul Soler, the special envoy of French President Emmanuel Macron to Libya, held talks today with Hanna Tetteh, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Libya, to discuss developments in the country. The Libyan News Agency reported that the meeting, held in Tripoli, addressed developments in Libya’s political landscape and the initiatives put forward to support the political process and unify state institutions. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to unify state institutions and support pathways that ensure stability and pave the way for elections. They reviewed the latest political, economic, and security developments, including progress made in implementing the political roadmap, according to the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The two sides exchanged views on ways to support Libyans in reaching a political agreement that would pave the way for national elections and the reunification of state institutions. (End) S.B.M.
