Lebanon condemns Israeli occupation airstrikes on Abu al-Duhur airport in Syria

Beirut, August 19 (KUNA) -- Lebanon today strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ aerial raids that targeted Abu al-Dhaher military airport in the Idlib province in northwestern Syria. In a statement, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the Israeli occupation’s attack on Syria constitutes “a blatant violation of its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity, and a clear breach of the provisions of international law and the UN Charter.” The ministry reaffirmed Lebanon’s steadfast position supporting Syria’s sovereignty, security, and stability, emphasizing its rejection of any aggression targeting Syrian territory. Lebanon stressed the need to halt the ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation against countries in the region and to refrain from any steps that could escalate tensions and threaten regional stability.
