Kuwait Chief of General Staff Discusses with U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff the Development of Joint Cooperation

Washington, Aug 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, held talks today, Wednesday, with U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, to explore ways to develop joint military cooperation between the two sides.

The Kuwaiti General Headquarters of the Armed Forces said in a press statement that the meeting took place during Al-Sharhan’s encounter with his counterpart, General Caine, at the U.S. Department of Defense building (the Pentagon), as part of his official visit to the United States.

It added that the meeting reviewed bilateral relations and discussed existing strategic partnerships and ways to strengthen them in the interest of shared objectives. The two sides also addressed efforts aimed at enhancing regional security and stability. (End) A.J.R. / T.M.A.
