Kuwait's Under-11 Table Tennis Team Dominates Girls' Singles at the West Asia Championship

Amman, August 19 (KUNA) — The Kuwaiti under-11 girls’ table tennis team today, Wednesday, secured the gold, silver, and bronze medals in the girls’ singles event at the West Asian Championship currently being held in Jordan, with the competition concluding tomorrow, Thursday. Player Haya Salah claimed the gold medal after defeating her teammate Sheikha Al-Ali in the final, who in turn won the silver medal. Meanwhile, player Dalal Al-Shamari secured the bronze medal after defeating Saudi player Shouq Al-Dosari. Kuwait dominated the top three positions in the singles competition, thanks to outstanding performances by the Kuwaiti players in a tournament that featured 16 participants from various participating countries. With today’s results, Kuwait’s overall tally in the championship across all events stands at three gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. Kuwait is participating in the championship across various age categories for both boys and girls, including the senior category, as well as under-19, under-17, under-15, under-13, and under-11. The championship has seen broad participation from the national teams of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, Iraq, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
