(UAE Defense): The two ballistic missiles coming from Iran were targeting maritime navigation

Abu Dhabi, August 18 (KUNA) -- The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that assessments revealed the two ballistic missiles detected, launched from Iran, were targeting maritime navigation and had fallen into the sea. In a statement, the ministry affirmed that it remains “on high alert and prepared to address any threats and firmly counter any actions aimed at undermining the security of the state or navigation safety in the region, thereby ensuring the preservation of the country’s sovereignty, security, stability, and the protection of its national interests and assets.” The ministry urged the public to “obtain information from official sources and avoid circulating rumors or inaccurate information.” Earlier on Tuesday, the ministry announced that UAE air defenses had detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward the country; the first fell outside territorial waters, while the second fell within territorial waters.
