Turkey condemns Israeli occupation airstrikes on Abu al-Dhaher base in Syria

Istanbul, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Turkey strongly condemned Israel’s occupation airstrikes that targeted the Abu al-Dhaher military airbase in the countryside of Idlib, northern Syria, on Tuesday, asserting that the attacks constitute a violation of Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the occupation continues its reckless assaults targeting Syrian infrastructure and capabilities, thereby violating Syria’s unity, territory, and sovereignty. The statement called on the international community to adopt a firmer stance to halt Israel’s escalating aggression against Syria and to ensure accountability for those responsible for acts that disregard international law. Syria today strongly condemned Israeli occupation airstrikes that hit the Abu al-Dhaher military airport in Idlib province, deeming them an unjustified act of aggression, a blatant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability.
