Washington, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- The U.S. envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, described today, Tuesday, Israeli occupation airstrikes targeting Abu al-Duhur military airport in northwestern Syria as an “unnecessary escalation.” In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Barrack said the United States feels “deeply concerned” about the confirmed Israeli occupation air strikes on Abu al-Duhur air base, which he characterized as “an unjustified escalation that does not contribute to regional stability.” He added that Washington encourages all parties to prioritize “rational dialogue” over further military escalation.
