Tunisia's tourism revenues grow to over $1.6 billion since the beginning of 2026
Tunis, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- Official data in Tunisia showed on Monday that tourism sector revenues from the beginning of 2026 through August 10 exceeded $1.6 billion, representing a growth of 4.82 percent compared to the same period in 2025. The Central Bank of Tunisia stated in a statement that tourism revenues contributed to boosting the country’s foreign exchange reserves to more than $8.6 billion by mid-August. Tunisia attracted approximately six million foreign tourists by the end of last July, with hopes of surpassing the 12 million tourist threshold for the first time in the full year of 2026.
