(UNIFIL) observes a noticeable increase in Israeli occupation activity in southern Lebanon
Beirut, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced on Monday that the past two weeks witnessed a noticeable increase in military activity by the Israeli occupation army in southern Lebanon. In a statement, UNIFIL said it “recorded an average of 135 projectiles per day between August 5 and 16, including 208 on Saturday and 185 on Sunday.” The Lebanese National News Agency had reported earlier on Monday that the Israeli occupation army shelled Zouitar al-Sharqiya, Al-Manṣūriya, and Aytarun with artillery, in addition to artillery fire that struck the municipal building in Bani Hayan. It also noted that an occupation army convoy dropped explosive materials on the Dabsha area at the eastern outskirts of the town of Nabatiya al-Fawqa. (End) A.Y.B. / N.S.A.
