Yemen: 181 operations carried out against the Houthi militia in the past 24 hours

Aden, August 16 (KUNA) – The official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, said on Sunday that the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out 181 military operations during the past 24 hours, targeting military sites, objectives, and threat sources belonging to the Houthi militia across various combat fronts.

In a press statement, Al-Nazili added that the operations were conducted using drones, artillery, and rocket launchers, resulting in the killing and wounding of dozens of Houthi fighters, the destruction of dozens of equipment and vehicles, as well as several arms depots and military assets.

He clarified that the operations focused on military targets, fire sources, and capabilities used to carry out hostile actions along the contact lines in several Yemeni governorates, including Taiz, Marib, Al-Dhale, Shabwa, Abyan, Al-Hudaydah, and Lahj, achieving direct hits on designated objectives.

Al-Nazili affirmed that the Yemeni Army possesses the necessary capability and readiness to locate and neutralize threat sources, preventing them from continuing their hostile activities in accordance with operational requirements, and at the time, place, and by means determined by military command.

He pointed out that these strikes come in the wake of repeated “terrorist” Houthi attacks targeting civilians, civilian property, facilities, economic infrastructure, and ports, as well as units and sites belonging to the Yemeni Armed Forces.

He called on Yemenis to stay away from Houthi military sites, facilities, and gatherings, and to refrain from joining their ranks or approaching their military positions, in order to safeguard their lives and safety.

He stressed that any threat source directed against the Armed Forces, civilians, civilian property, or the Yemeni people’s assets would not be exempt from legitimate military response, affirming that the Armed Forces would continue to fulfill their duty to protect the people, their interests, and the state’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
