Egyptian Red Crescent: Dispatch of 3,679 tons of relief, medical, and petroleum supplies to the Gaza Strip

Cairo, Aug 16 (KUNA) — The Egyptian Red Crescent announced on Sunday the dispatch of more than 3,679 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as part of the “Zad al-Izzah… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, in line with its role as the national mechanism for coordinating aid to the Strip.

In a statement, the Egyptian Red Crescent clarified that the initiative’s convoy, comprising 257 trucks, departed for Gaza carrying approximately 1,322 tons of food baskets and flour, around 428 tons of relief supplies and medical equipment and therapeutic drugs, and more than 1,929 tons of petroleum products essential for operating hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.

The statement affirmed that the Egyptian Red Crescent has been present at the Egyptian border with the Gaza Strip since the onset of the crisis, maintaining readiness across all logistical centers and continuing its sustained efforts to deliver humanitarian and relief aid that has exceeded one million tons, thanks to the contributions of more than 75,000 volunteers.
