Kuwait Girls' Table Tennis Team Wins Silver and Bronze at West Asia Championship in Jordan

Kuwait City, August 15 (KUNA) – The Kuwaiti girls’ table tennis team won silver in the under-13 category and bronze in the under-19 category at the West Asian Championship currently being held in Jordan. The Kuwaiti girls’ under-13 team secured the silver medal after losing the final to Bahrain 1-3, while the under-19 team claimed bronze by defeating Bahrain 3-0 in the match for third and fourth places. The under-13 squad comprises players Joud Al-Sinawi, Suad Al-Majed, Al-Zain Al-Ali, and Sheikha Al-Ali, while the under-19 team is made up of Mariam Al-Halwaji, Fatima Al-Shamari, and Khadija Al-Halwaji. Kuwait is participating in the tournament across various age categories for both boys and girls: senior, under-19, under-17, under-15, under-13, and under-11. The girls’ under-11 (sprouts) team won their category on Friday, claiming first place after defeating Iraq 3-0. The championship, which runs until next Thursday, sees wide participation from teams representing Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, Iraq, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
