Kuwait's Under-11 Girls' Table Tennis Team Wins First Place in West Asia Championship in Jordan

Kuwait City, August 14 (KUNA) — The Kuwait girls’ table tennis team in the Under-11 (Sprouts) category secured first place today, Friday, after defeating Iraq 3-0 at the West Asia Championship being held in Jordan, with competition running until next Thursday.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Nader Bahbahani, a member of the board of directors of the Kuwait Table Tennis Federation, said that the Kuwait girls’ Sprouts team’s first-place finish at the West Asia Championship in Jordan represents a distinctive achievement for Kuwaiti table tennis and reflects the technical potential and competitive abilities of the promising players.

Bahbahani added that the national team earned first place with a well-deserved 3-0 victory over their Iraqi counterparts, praising the level of play demonstrated by the athletes and the efforts of the technical and administrative staff in reaching this achievement. He noted that this result serves as an important motivation for the rest of the players in the national teams participating in the tournament, which continues until next Thursday, and reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to achieving the best results and reaching the podium across all age categories.

He explained that Kuwait is participating in the championship across various age groups for both boys and girls, including Under-19, Under-17, Under-15, Under-13, and Under-11, as part of the federation’s interest in providing opportunities for players to gain experience, enhance their technical levels, and develop through competition.

Bahbahani pointed out that the championship features participation by the national teams of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, Iraq, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, which adds significant technical importance to the competition and offers players a valuable opportunity to acquire further experience.

He expressed hope that the Kuwaiti national teams would continue to achieve positive results in upcoming matches, emphasizing that the federation will continue to support its players and work on developing the sport’s foundation to prepare a generation capable of representing Kuwait honorably at regional and international events.
