Paris, August 14 (KUNA) -- France strongly condemned on Friday the actions of Israeli settlers who besieged and attacked Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, as well as acts of violence targeting Palestinian civilians. In a statement, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that France “condemns in the strongest terms the takeover by Israeli settlers of several Palestinian homes in the town of Qusra in the West Bank, as well as the violent acts committed against Palestinian civilians.” The statement called on “the Israeli authorities to arrest those responsible for these acts and bring them to justice,” and to take all necessary measures to protect Palestinian civilian populations, as it is obligated to do under international law. The statement reiterated France’s condemnation of “the Israeli settlement policy, which threatens the two-state solution and leads to an escalation of tensions on the ground.” The town of Qusra, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, has been under continuous aggression since the beginning of this week, with Israeli settlers besieging Palestinian families inside their homes in the Ras al-Ayn area.
