Pakistan celebrates its 79th Independence Day amid patriotic atmosphere
Islamabad, Aug 14 (KUNA) -- Pakistan today celebrated the 79th anniversary of its independence amid an atmosphere of national enthusiasm and pride. Pakistani flags were displayed in city centers, neighborhoods, and streets, which hosted a variety of events and celebrations marking the occasion. Flag-raising ceremonies were organized at federal and provincial headquarters, as well as at the district and local levels across Pakistan. The capital, Islamabad, witnessed the organization of several exhibitions, seminars, and cultural events that highlighted the aspirations, sacrifices, and hopes that accompanied the nation-building process. For his part, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said in a message on the occasion that "independence is not merely a historical achievement, but a responsibility that every generation must bear and advance."
