Iraqi Kurdistan: Three booby-trapped drones shot down in Erbil
Erbil, Aug 14 (KUNA) – The Counter-Terrorism Agency in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq announced on Friday that it had shot down three explosive-laden drones in the skies over the capital, Erbil, with no casualties reported. In a statement, the agency said that “the international coalition forces managed to shoot down three explosive-laden drones in the skies of Erbil,” adding that no casualties had been recorded as a result of the incident. Since the beginning of this year, the Kurdistan Region has been targeted by attacks involving approximately 1,000 drones and rockets, which resulted in the deaths of 32 people and injuries to 156 others.
