China extends tariffs of up to 30% to combat dumping of Indian optical fibers

Beijing, Aug 13 (KUNA) -- China announced on Thursday the extension of anti-dumping duties ranging from 7.4% to 30.6% on imports of single-mode optical fiber from India, effective tomorrow and lasting for five years. Xinhua News Agency quoted China’s Ministry of Commerce in a statement saying the decision follows the conclusion of an investigation launched in August 2025, which found that Indian single-mode optical fiber products were causing injury to the domestic industry. China had initially imposed these duties at the same rates on Indian single-mode optical fiber for five years starting in August 2014, and extended them in 2020. Single-mode optical fiber is a type of fiber that transmits only one mode of light signal within a specific wavelength range, with a core diameter ranging from 4 to 12 micrometers.
