(Kuwait Petroleum Corporation): Youth are true partners in building the future of Kuwait's oil sector

Kuwait City, August 13 (KUNA) -- The Chief Executive Officer of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Sheikh Nawaf Al-Saud Al-Sabah, affirmed that involving youth in dialogue and shaping future directions reflects the corporation’s belief in their pivotal role as genuine partners in building the future of the oil sector and ensuring its sustainable success.

In a press statement on Thursday, the corporation said this was expressed during a dialogue seminar held under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, with participation from senior leaders of KPC and its subsidiaries, on the occasion of International Youth Day, which was observed on Wednesday at the Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition in Ahmadi.

According to the statement, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah noted that KPC’s support for youth includes empowering them, developing their capabilities, listening to their perspectives and ideas, and leveraging their aspirations for the future of the oil sector, as they are the generation that will assume leadership and management responsibilities in the coming years.

For his part, Hisham Al-Rifai, Managing Director of Human Resources and Comprehensive Services at KPC, said in the statement that investing in human capital is a cornerstone of KPC’s strategy, emphasizing the corporation’s commitment to providing opportunities for the promising generation to showcase their talents in creativity and innovation within a stimulating and supportive work environment.

Al-Rifai clarified that KPC is working to empower youth, entrusting them with responsibilities and the necessary confidence, while equipping them with the tools and means to help them shoulder those responsibilities and contribute to decision-making.

The statement noted that the seminar witnessed the launch of the KPC Youth Council, aimed at enhancing youth participation, listening to their opinions and ideas, and providing them with opportunities to contribute to developing the work environment.

It added that the seminar also included two discussion panels. The first, titled “Youth Perspectives Across KPC Sectors,” focused on youth experiences and roles amid current regional circumstances and the challenges they face.

The second panel, titled “From Idea to Impact: The Journey of Youth Councils in the Oil Sector,” featured representatives of youth councils in oil sector companies presenting their roles, initiatives, and future aspirations.
