(Iraqi Interior Ministry): Four individuals arrested in possession of 20 locally manufactured drones

Baghdad, August 12 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday the arrest of four individuals in possession of 20 locally manufactured drones in the capital, Baghdad. The ministry stated in a press release that the arrest and seizure operation was carried out by units of the Intelligence Agency under the Directorate of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism in the Rusafa sector of Baghdad, following the acquisition of the necessary judicial approvals. It noted that the four suspects confessed during interrogation that they possessed the drones for the purpose of trafficking them. Iraqi courts have previously classified the possession of drones outside legal regulations as a "terrorist" act and warned that those in possession would be held accountable under the Anti-Terrorism Law.
