Iraqi Prime Minister: Deadline for International Coalition Mission on September 30 is Final

Baghdad, August 12 (KUNA) – Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Idabi said on Wednesday that the deadline for the conclusion of the international coalition’s mission in the country on September 30 is “a final, irreversible date,” emphasizing the implementation of the highest level of security plans, support for internal stability, and safeguarding national sovereignty.

The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office stated in a press release that these remarks were made during a meeting of the National Security Council, chaired by al-Idabi in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to discuss a number of domestic and regional files.

The meeting reviewed the regional situation and the developments unfolding in the region, reaffirming the importance of taking steps to protect Iraq’s supreme interests and consolidate the foundations of de-escalation and stability.

Al-Idabi stressed the importance of strengthening the rule of law in the country, developing security and military institutions, and entrenching economic and social stability, thereby ensuring the preservation of the state’s authority and enhancing citizens’ trust in official institutions. (End)
