U.S. Department of Defense launches digital platform to facilitate collaboration with the technology sector

Washington, Aug 11 (KUNA) – The U.S. Department of Defense announced on Tuesday the launch of a digital platform designed to streamline and facilitate its collaboration with the commercial technology sector, as well as research and academic institutions, with the aim of developing a multi-layered missile defense system. In a statement, the ministry said the platform, named “America’s Golden Dome,” will “connect innovators in the commercial sector, investors, and unconventional startups directly with the Department of Defense.” It explained that the platform “represents a fundamental shift in how the United States builds its multi-layered missile defense shield, intended to protect the homeland, as it constitutes the next generation of such systems.” The ministry added that the platform operates “by removing traditional regulatory barriers, serving as a single entry point for conventional defense contractors, commercial technology companies, investors, academic institutions, research laboratories, and unconventional entrepreneurs to deliver innovative capabilities that keep pace with the speed of the market.” (End) R.S.R / R.J
