Bahrain's King Praises the Distinguished Historical Relations and Close Partnership with the United Kingdom

Manama, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday praised the distinguished bilateral relations and the close historical partnership between his country and the United Kingdom, highlighting a long-standing tradition of fruitful cooperation and joint coordination, particularly in defense and military matters, as allies and friends over many years. The Bahrain News Agency reported that this came during the King’s reception of Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff for Strategy and Operations of the United Kingdom, who is visiting Bahrain. The King emphasized the mutual commitment to developing and enhancing bilateral relations across all fields in a manner that serves the shared objectives and interests of the two countries and brings benefits to both peoples. He also commended the important role played by the United Kingdom on the regional and international stages, and its efforts to consolidate the foundations of security and stability in the region and worldwide. The meeting discussed regional and international developments, particularly the latest situations in the region, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest. For his part, Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the King’s efforts to strengthen the historic bonds of friendship and the robust military and defense cooperation between the two countries.
