Bahrain and Egypt Foreign Ministers Discuss Efforts to Maintain Regional Security and Stability

Manama, August 10 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Monday to discuss efforts aimed at preserving regional security and stability. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the call addressed recent developments in the regional situation, the protection of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab, the exchange of views on current challenges, and the push for de-escalation and peace in the region. It also covered support for strengthening the process of Arab cooperation, continued bilateral consultation and coordination in international forums, and the discussion of issues and topics of mutual interest. The statement added that the call discussed the dimensions of the fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples, which benefit from the patronage and support of Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as well as ways to enhance bilateral cooperation at all levels in a manner that serves shared interests and objectives.
