Bahraini Foreign Minister and his Pakistani counterpart discuss developments in regional affairs

Manama, August 10 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held a telephone conversation with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday to discuss regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and preserving regional security and stability. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the call reviewed developments in the regional situation and guaranteed freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation and coordination through the two countries’ non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council regarding issues under discussion by the Council, in addition to discussing matters and topics of mutual interest. It added that the close fraternal relations between the two countries were discussed, along with ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields of mutual interest, thereby serving shared interests and objectives.
