Kuwait Football Association draws the 2026-2027 Zain Premier League

Kuwait City, August 10 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Football Association (KFA) conducted the draw for the 65th edition of the local Premier League (Zain League) on Monday, with the tournament set to kick off on August 25. The new season of the Zain League will feature 12 clubs: Kuwait (the defending champions), Al-Qadsia, Al-Arabi, Al-Salmiya, Kazma, Fahaheel, Al-Nasr, Al-Tadamun, Al-Jahra, Al-Shabab, and the champion and runner-up of the First Division.

The draw for the opening round produced a highly anticipated clash between Kuwait and Al-Arabi, considered one of the standout matches of the round. Other fixtures include Al-Qadsia versus Fahaheel, Al-Tadamun against Kazma, Al-Jahra facing Al-Shabab, Al-Salmiya taking on Al-Nasr, and the First Division champion playing against its runner-up.

According to the tournament regulations, league matches will be played in a home-and-away format over two days each week, with three matches scheduled per day.

Earlier, the KFA announced that Zain Telecom would continue its sponsorship of the local Premier League and First Division after winning the bidding process for the next four seasons. (End) S.A.D./A.M.H.
