Kuwait City, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Airways announced on Monday that it recorded net profits of 8.6 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $27.8 million) in the first half of 2026, a decline of 10.3 percent compared to the same period in 2025, with earnings per share of 39.09 fils.

In a press statement, the company’s board chairman, Marwan Boudi, said operating revenues reached 115.8 million dinars (approximately $374.8 million) in the first half of 2026, an increase of 13.4 percent compared to the same period in 2025.

Boudi clarified that the company achieved net profits of 9.6 million dinars (approximately $31 million) in the second quarter of 2026, a rise of 99.2 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2025, with earnings per share of 43.92 fils. He noted that operating revenues amounted to 70.7 million dinars (approximately $228.8 million) in the second quarter of 2026, up 45.5 percent compared to the same period in 2025.

Boudi stated that the first half was among the most challenging periods in Kuwait Airways’ history, as the temporary closure of Kuwait International Airport imposed unprecedented operational challenges.
