Kuwait City, August 10 (KUNA) -- August 10:
1932 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sends a letter to the British Political Agent in Kuwait, agreeing to the contents of a letter from Nuri al-Said, the Prime Minister of Iraq, regarding the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border.
1960 - The Kuwait Insurance Company is established to conduct all types of insurance business, with a capital of five million rupees.
1960 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues an emiri decree establishing the National Industries Company with a capital of twenty million rupees, aimed at establishing and operating all types of factories for its own benefit or for others.
1966 - Kuwait ratifies the Convention of the Arab Organization for Administrative Sciences, which was approved by the Council of the League of Arab States on April 1, 1961.
1990 - The extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo condemns the Iraqi aggression against Kuwait and decides not to recognize the Iraqi regime’s decision to annex Kuwait, nor any other results stemming from its invasion of Kuwaiti territory.
1990 - The Kuwaiti Resistance issues a bulletin titled "Al-Murabitun," urging people to remain patient during the ordeal, steadfast in their homeland, and to resist the Iraqi occupation. The bulletin was distributed and announced in mosques.
1992 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a decree-law establishing the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
2005 - Abdulaziz Mohammed Jaafar passes away at the age of 77. He was one of the most prominent media leaders in Kuwait.
2012 - Ahmed Zaid Al-Sarhan passes away at the age of 92. He served as Speaker of the National Assembly during the second legislative term (1967–1970).
2016 - Shooter Fahid Al-Dihan wins the gold medal in the double trap event at the Olympic Games in Brazil, securing Kuwait’s first-ever Olympic gold medal.
2025 - The first Kuwaiti relief flights depart for Gaza, carrying 10 tons of food supplies, as part of the humanitarian campaign "Kuwait Is By Your Side."
2025 - The Ministry of Finance announces the implementation of the first government project of its kind to migrate its digital infrastructure to the Microsoft Azure platform using the Azure VMware Solution (AVS) service, making it the first Kuwaiti government entity to achieve this advanced technological transformation under the strategic partnership agreement between the Government of the State of Kuwait and Microsoft.
