Egypt reaffirms its firm and supportive stance on Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity

Cairo, Aug 9 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Badr Abdelatty reiterated his country’s firm and supportive stance on the unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions of Sudan. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday that Abdelatty, during a telephone call with his Sudanese counterpart Mohi ad-Din Salem, stressed the importance of ensuring that the political process is purely Sudanese-owned, thereby safeguarding the state’s capacities and fulfilling the Sudanese people’s aspirations for security and stability. The statement clarified that the call also addressed bilateral relations and ways to continue enhancing cooperation across various fields, with Abdelatty expressing Egypt’s pride in the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, and its commitment to further developing cooperation in areas that serve the common interests of both countries. The two ministers, according to the statement, agreed to continue close coordination and consultation in the coming period on various issues of mutual interest, and to follow up on bilateral cooperation tracks in a manner that reflects the unique nature of Egyptian-Sudanese relations and serves the interests and aspirations of both peoples.
