Egypt and Iraq reaffirm commitment to continuing trilateral cooperation with Jordan

Baghdad, August 8 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Egyptian Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, stressed on Saturday the importance of continuing to support the trilateral cooperation mechanism among Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan, and building on achievements made within its framework to enhance prospects for integration, development, and shared prosperity among the three countries.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that this came during a telephone call in which the two sides discussed bilateral and regional relations, ways to strengthen ties between the two brotherly countries, and expanding cooperation horizons in various fields, alongside continuing coordination and consultation on regional issues of common interest.

The ministry added, according to the statement, that the call addressed recent developments in the region, where both ministers emphasized the importance of de-escalation and supporting efforts aimed at achieving calm, which would contribute to enhancing the security and stability of the region.
