State of Kuwait strongly condemns and denounces the culpable Iranian attack on one of the UAE's ADNOC tankers

Kuwait City, Aug 8 (KUNA) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian criminal attack targeting a tanker belonging to the UAE’s ADNOC company as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, in a blatant violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and constituting a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. In a statement issued today, Saturday, the Ministry stressed the urgent need to immediately halt all escalatory actions and to comply with international law rules that guarantee freedom of navigation, reaffirming Kuwait’s rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation. The Ministry also affirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with sister state the United Arab Emirates and its support for all measures undertaken by the UAE to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its security and interests.
