GCC Secretary-General Condemns Houthi Militia Terrorist Attacks on Saudi Arabia's Najran Region

Riyadh, August 7 (KUNA) – Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi expressed his strongest condemnation and outrage today, Friday, over the heinous terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias, which targeted the Najran region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in injuries to several innocent civilians. He described the attack as a cruel and cowardly act that epitomizes the criminal approach of these militias.

In a statement, Al-Budaiwi said that this abominable terrorist crime by the Houthi militias constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and is a crime that warrants accountability due to its deliberate and indiscriminate targeting of civilians and civilian objects, in open defiance of all international norms and conventions, and posing a serious threat to regional and international security and stability.

He stressed that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the GCC member states, affirming the Council’s unity in standing alongside the Kingdom and its full support for all measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
