Kuwait City, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- August 7:

1989: The Kuwait Industrialists Association was established as an organized body representing Kuwaiti industrialists, with the aim of serving the industrial sector and its stakeholders and safeguarding their interests.

1990: Minister of Defense Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a ministerial decree forming a military committee and reorganizing the Kuwaiti military forces stationed in Saudi Arabia.

1990: The Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) convened its 12th extraordinary session in Jeddah, renewing its condemnation of Iraq’s occupation of Kuwait.

2007: Player Mohamed Al-Gharib won first place in the doubles event at the Challenger Finland International Tennis Tournament for professionals, one of the largest tournaments on the global Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) circuit.

2014: Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar passed away at the age of 95. He was among the pioneering generation of Kuwaiti leaders and served as chairman of the board of directors of the National Bank of Kuwait.

2016: Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah inaugurated the “Najiz” project, which consists of a mobile service center affiliated with the Ministry of Justice.
