Two dead and 13 injured in explosion of a bomb inside a passenger bus near Damascus

Amman, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- Two people were killed and 13 others injured Thursday evening when a bomb planted in a passenger bus exploded in the city of Jaramana, in the suburbs of Damascus, according to the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), citing the Syrian Ministry of Health. SANA reported that the Ministry of Health is closely monitoring the health developments resulting from the blast, with hospitals raising their alert status and ambulance services and medical teams placed on standby. Police elements established a security cordon around the explosion site in central Jaramana. The Syrian Civil Defense reopened the road where the blast occurred to traffic after completely clearing the debris. In a post on X, Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh stated that his ministry’s teams responded to the explosion that targeted a passenger bus in Jaramana, in the Damascus suburbs, on Thursday. He added that “Syria will remain strong and resilient, moving forward with confidence toward a safer and more prosperous future, relying on the will of its people, the unity of its sons, and their determination to overcome challenges.” (End) H.S.S.
