(SANTCOM): Change of course for 49 commercial vessels since the start of the blockade on Iranian ports

Washington, June 6 (KUNA) -- The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Thursday that the course of 49 commercial vessels has been altered so far as part of the U.S. enforcement of a blockade on Iranian ports. CENTCOM stated in a press release that U.S. forces have, to date, diverted 49 commercial ships, disrupted two others, and boarded two additional vessels. It is worth noting that U.S. forces resumed the maritime blockade on ships heading to Iranian ports and coastal areas, or arriving from them, starting July 14, in response to attacks on commercial vessels and the obstruction of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
