India successfully tests medium-range ballistic missile

New Delhi, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- India’s Ministry of Defence announced on Thursday the successful test launch of a medium-range ballistic missile from the Chandipur range in the eastern state of Odisha. In a statement, the ministry said the Agni-4 missile test was conducted under the Strategic Forces Command and met all operational and technical parameters. The new land-to-land missile has a range of 4,000 kilometers and is powered by a two-stage solid-fuel rocket engine. It can carry conventional or nuclear warheads weighing approximately one ton and features a mobile launch capability from road-mobile platforms, enhancing its flexibility. (End) A.T.K. / A.M.S.
