Egyptian President and Bahraini King reaffirm the necessity of implementing the Gaza agreement and resolving regional crises through dialogue
Cairo, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Thursday stressed the necessity of implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, as well as resolving regional crises through dialogue and peaceful means.
The Egyptian presidency said in a statement that this came during President el-Sisi’s reception of the Bahraini king at the Presidential Palace in the new city of Alamein, where the two sides held talks attended by senior officials from both countries.
President el-Sisi emphasized during the talks the importance of continuing to develop Egyptian-Bahraini relations, particularly in economic, trade, and investment fields, alongside intensifying strategic consultation and political coordination to contribute to maintaining regional peace and stability.
The statement added that the talks addressed developments in the regional situation, with el-Sisi reiterating Egypt’s support for the Kingdom of Bahrain and its condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting Bahraini territory, affirming that Bahrain’s security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, both sides stressed the necessity of all parties committing to implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid, as well as supporting early recovery and reconstruction efforts, leading to a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
According to the statement, the Bahraini king expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance toward Bahrain’s security and stability, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination between the two countries to face the challenges facing the region and avoid escalation.
He expressed his pride in visiting Egypt, affirming his country’s commitment to elevating bilateral relations to broader horizons, reflecting the deep fraternal ties between the two countries and serving the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
He also expressed his wishes for Egypt to continue its progress and prosperity, affirming Bahrain’s solidarity with Egypt and its support for all measures Egypt takes to preserve its security and stability, a stance that President el-Sisi appreciated. (End) M.M. / T.M.A.
