Tunisia and Libya discuss enhancing energy cooperation

Tunis, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti held talks today with Taher al-Baour, the official entrusted with managing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Libya’s Government of National Unity, to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, alongside preparations for upcoming meetings of the Supreme Joint Committee.

The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that both sides reaffirmed the importance of strengthening and developing cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries, especially in the fields of energy and renewable energy, in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances economic integration pathways between the two nations.

The statement added that the two ministers emphasized the importance of adequately preparing for the upcoming meetings of the Libyan-Tunisian Supreme Joint Committee, in order to boost economic and technical cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, and to advance bilateral relations toward broader horizons that fulfill the aspirations of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

Both sides also stressed the importance of continuing consultations and coordination on various regional and international issues of common interest, thereby strengthening bilateral ties and serving the shared interests of the two countries. (End) S.B.M. / H.M.F.
