French President Criticizes Recent Russian Attacks on Ukraine
Paris, May 8 (KUNA) – French President Emmanuel Macron today Wednesday condemned the latest Russian attacks “that targeted civilians in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and surrounding areas.” In a statement on his X platform, Macron said, “Russia has once again chosen to target civilians in Kyiv and its surrounding areas,” adding that “Russia’s use of missiles and drones in these attacks is unacceptable, as it amounts to adopting a policy of terrorism.” He further stated, “Every new attack by Russia underscores the importance of making it pay for its aggression and holding it accountable for its crimes.” Macron reaffirmed France’s unwavering and tireless support for Ukraine, noting that “the European Union and its partners will continue to increase pressure on Russia through sanctions and by bolstering military support for Ukraine, enabling it to defend itself and protect its people.” (End) M.B. / S.A.M.
