Washington, May 8 (KUNA) – The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on Wednesday the removal of Iraqi airline Fly Baghdad and two of its aircraft from the list of terrorist-related sanctions, after having designated them in 2024 due to their alleged ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The announcement came in a statement issued by the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), without providing reasons for the delisting decision. According to the OFAC statement, the delisting of Fly Baghdad and its associated trade names, including Iraq Express, also covered two Boeing 737 aircraft owned by the company. (End) R.S.R. / H.M.F.
