Algeria and Turkey Foreign Ministers Discuss Developments in the African Sahel and the Middle East
Algiers, May 8 (KUNA) -- Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held talks today with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various fields, as well as on recent developments in the African Sahel and the Middle East. According to a statement issued by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Arab Ministerial Committee meeting tasked with international action to confront illegal Israeli policies and measures in occupied Jerusalem, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman. The statement noted that the meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss the state of Algerian-Turkish bilateral relations, with agreement reached to hold meetings of the bilateral cooperation mechanisms, particularly the Joint Planning Committee and the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
