Qatari Prime Minister Holds Talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister on Regional Developments

Doha, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today, Wednesday, with Egyptian Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, to discuss the latest regional developments.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Arab Ministerial Committee meeting tasked with international action to confront illegal Israeli policies and measures in occupied Jerusalem, which was held today in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly joint Arab coordination to confront Israeli escalation targeting occupied Jerusalem, along with diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the region.

During the meeting, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and enhance regional stability.

He reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region. (End) S S S / T M A
