Indonesia condemns Israeli occupation attacks that obstruct the peace plan in Gaza

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Indonesia condemned Israel’s recent attacks on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, calling for an immediate and permanent halt to them, which it deemed a serious violation of international law and a deliberate act that undermines the implementation of the peace plan and exacerbates the suffering of the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the occupation’s military attacks had targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure, constituting a serious breach of international law. It emphasized that the attacks deliberately obstruct the implementation of the peace plan for the Gaza Strip.

The ministry called on Israel, as a party to the ceasefire agreement, to immediately and permanently cease its military attacks and to fulfill all its obligations stipulated in the agreement, in accordance with international law.

It welcomed the agreement by Hamas and other Palestinian factions on the roadmap for implementing the second phase of the peace plan in Gaza, noting that the roadmap aligns with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 of 2025, and regarded their acceptance as an important step in the conflict resolution process.

The ministry urged all parties to ensure the full protection of civilians, medical personnel, and humanitarian workers, and to facilitate the safe, rapid, and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.

Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to working toward launching a credible political process leading to the independence of the State of Palestine on the basis of a two-state solution, in line with relevant UN resolutions and internationally agreed standards. It stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state through a reliable political process represents the path toward achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
