Kuwait's Ambassador to Malta Discusses Ways to Enhance Cooperation and the Situation in the Middle East with the Maltese Foreign Minister

Kuwait City, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s ambassador to the Republic of Malta, Meshal Al-Mutairi, held talks with Maltese Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Chris Verrone on ways to enhance cooperation and address international issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the situation in the Middle East.
In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday, the Kuwaiti embassy said the two sides discussed the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen cooperation in economic, commercial, and educational fields, as well as to elevate bilateral ties to broader horizons.
According to the statement, both sides agreed to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries and increase the number of students. They also discussed the possibility of opening study programs in other disciplines at the University of Malta.
The statement noted that approximately 154 Kuwaiti students are currently studying in Malta, the majority of whom are enrolled in medical fields. (End) M.S.A.
