(SANTCOM): Change of course for 45 commercial ships since the start of the blockade on Iranian ports

Washington, Aug 4 (KUNA) – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that it has rerouted 45 commercial vessels so far as part of the U.S. enforcement of sanctions on Iranian ports. In a statement, CENTCOM said that U.S. forces, as of August 4, had rerouted 45 commercial ships, detained two, and boarded two others to verify compliance with the sanctions. It is recalled that U.S. forces resumed the naval blockade on ships heading to Iranian ports and coastal areas, or departing from them, starting July 14, in response to attacks on commercial vessels and the obstruction of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
