United States and Paraguay Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Civil Nuclear Energy

Washington, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- The United States and Paraguay signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation in the field of civilian nuclear energy today in the U.S. capital, Washington. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking at the signing ceremony with his Paraguayan counterpart, Robin Ramirez Lizcano, at the U.S. State Department, said, “This is another step along the path of continuous growth in the relationship between our two countries.” He added, “The United States and Paraguay have always been bound by strong ties, and those ties are now growing even stronger.” For his part, Lizcano noted that the “strategic alliance” between the two countries is “very close” and of “paramount importance” to both.
