US trade deficit in goods and services falls to $73.3 billion in June

Washington, Aug 4 (KUNA) – Data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday showed that the U.S. trade deficit in goods and services narrowed to $73.3 billion in June, driven by a sharper decline in imports than in exports. According to a report by the department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis, the deficit fell from $77.6 billion in May (revised) to $73.3 billion in June, as imports declined at a faster pace than exports. The report clarified that the goods trade deficit decreased by $3.9 billion in June to $102.1 billion. It also noted that the services trade surplus rose by $500 million to $28.8 billion.
